We took a short trip to Victoria last weekend, hoping the forecast for sunshine and blue skies might actually be accurate, and would you believe it, it was!

The days weren’t the warmest, but they were certainly the driest we’ve experienced in a little while, so it was all good. Almost forgotten how great it can be to tilt your head up and feel a touch of warm sunshine (ignoring the chilly breeze!) on your face. Almost smiled…

For various reasons, January this year has been a real drag, grey and gloomy, and not always just the weather. What a relief then to finish the month on a bit of an uptick.

I’ll keep it brief this week, and end by sharing a couple more photographs showing a highlight or two or three from the past weekend. Farewell January and hello February – you’ll give us a sunny day or two, won’t you?!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Enjoy and have a nice weekend you too.

Agreed, Jane – have not been enjoying the grey days, normally doesn’t bother me, but the lack of sun so far this year… Anyway, always found AB sunny but cold, hope it’s not too bad Edmonton way. You’ll have the cold for sure!

What a nice getaway, Adam, to enjoy the city and some sunshine. Love your images of the blue bridge and the ferry boat with the Canadian flag. Victoria is a lovely city.

Wonderful to see that you were able to enjoy some beautiful moments in Victoria to end the month! Love the boat and blue bridge and swans and coffee art can always provide a smile. I thought Everton battling out of relegation with big win and a new manager was going to be the top Premier League news and then Harry Kane got busy setting records and winning a match (hope I don’t rethink those World Cup tickets). Hope February offers more blue skies and some good news!🙂

Thank you! Can you believe it, those two one-nil wins didn’t seem on the cards before the weekend! Very pleased for Kane, a good footballer and seems a likeable guy. Can Spurs keep hold of him…
The blue skies have been in short supply so far in February, although a few hours yesterday afternoon. We’re escaping the rain and heading for colder snowy climes in a different province later this month, and very excited about that. More to follow…
I hope your week is off to a good start!
