We were planning to spend chunks of the long weekend on snowshoes or xc skis, but the strangely warm weather through last weekend – it rained and washed away most of the snow pack – means waiting for fresh snow and the return of proper winter sometime around year end. Here’s hoping…
No snow? Try one of these instead…
In the meantime, we’re fully engaged with mince pies, winter beers and a good book/good movie or two!
Fully engaged
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great (long) weekend!
I am a would be outdoorsman - that is if I had more time, skills and knowledge. When I can, I love being outdoors, just camping, hiking, snowboarding, xc skiing, snowshoeing, paddling a canoe or trying something new. What I lack in ability, I make up for in enthusiasm and having a go. I'd never really survive for long out there in the wild, but I enjoy pretending I could if I had to...

Hi Maria, hope all is well with you!
Yes, if you could send some, be much appreciated!
Looking forward to reading your new (to me) blog n the next little while.
Looks and sounds like you are perfectly prepared for the holiday weekend!! Love the photo of the mince pies by the fire and hope you soon have a book or movie to recommend! Please don’t tell anyone, but I interrupted the holiday movie season with Expendables 4. Hope your snowshoe season returns, we have a few days of fog, rain and 50 degrees arriving. Hopefully you were enjoying a walk in the woods earlier today during the Spurs/Everton match! Happy Holidays and Harper sends hugs to Scout, you and Mrs. PC!🎄🐾🙂
I think it’ll be the Muppet Christmas Carol later today! Expendables 4 is on my to do list, but I feel I’ve let the franchise down – it’s the first one I haven’t seen at a movie house but I don’t think Sly and others need the money… Statham’s best has to be either The Mechanic or The Bank Job, or the one where he beats up a mob of gangsters with dinner plates. That could be any of his movies tbf…
Not a win for EFC but it was a great game and I like Ange as a manager. They’re doing very well without HK!
Have a great weekend – our two week forecast has some snow in it! Please, please, please…
Happy holidays
