It’s doubtful we are gonna need a bigger boat…
We went to see Jaws the other day – it was showing near home on a big screen and with a cleaned up super saturated print. Goodness, what a treat!

If you like the movie and you get the chance, do go and see it on a big screen. It really stands the test of time (50 years? Eek, that’s properly scary…)

What a movie, and an excellent (if unnecessary) reminder that I prefer to be on and not in the water. As for needing a bigger boat, that’s fine when taking a ferry – we caught one just the other day – but I don’t mind those smaller craft if that’s all there is.

Yup, a small craft is great! With all this water, you never know what might be lurking in the deep… or in the shallows:

Hmm, I think I need to work more with the new camera, but at least the heron was so focused on lurking it didn’t realize I was lurking nearby and struggling with my own focus!

Enough for now – I’m off to reflect on boats. Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

worried about Jaws ? Come to my place where the underwater footage was taken. Then you will really need a bigger boat. Seen a couple from my kayak which was exciting. !!

Exciting, yes! But too exciting for me!

Fifty years?! I am old! I remember the movie . I went with a friend back in the days when you could smoke in the theatre. We screamed at the scene under the boat, and my friend lost his cigarette. Another scream as he found out the cigarette had dropped into his pocket and was burning him. Nobody wanted to swim even in a lake after that movie.

Still hard to believe it was that many decades ago that I saw Jaws on the big screen! What a great one to see again in a theater and I’m looking forward to seeing Weapons soon on streaming. Love the boat reflections and good luck with the new camera!🙂

Yeah, surely it was made just a few years ago?! Huge fun on the big screen, would see it again if it’s rereleased!
I’m “enjoying” the new camera challenges and the way wild life keeps laughing at me…

You should’ve had a Narragansett to celebrate the rerelease, then crushed the can like Captain Quint.

Good call, Bob, but could I do it convincingly? Nobody chugs and crushes a can like Quint!
It’s a movie full of memorable small moments like this, just brilliant.

How very fun to escape into Jaws at a big screen theater, PC. And beautiful photos of the waterfront…a little like Amity Island. I re-watched this one sometime in the past year and even when you know what’s going to happen there is plenty of fear and suspense–a classic. Cheers to you and Mrs. PC.

It’s always a guaranteed scary/fun ride with Jaws! When we saw it on the big screen the other day, there were one or two in the audience new to the movie – how?! – and they jumped and screamed more than a few times – so great!
We’ve been enjoying being around the boats again, with the mists and clanging, foghorns and boat bells – very atmospheric. John Carpenter could make a foggy movie out here. Oh, wait a minute…
Thanks, Jet, and enjoy your weekend ahead!

I can imagine the movie being a treat on a big screen! Probably very scary. I love kayaking, but there’s no dangerous animals in our lakes here. It is probably more dangerous to go hiking alone in our woods, with the bears and wolves.

It really was a treat to see it “properly”!
Bears and wolves – great companions on a hike seen from a distance! We’ve seen scat and tracks for bears this week, but not the bears themselves. They’re loading up on berries!

We have a fabulous year when it comes to berries, is it the same over there?

From what we’ve seen out here at the coast, the salals were good and the blackberries are ripening now – happy bears!
