We went to South Beach midweek, taking our trip late afternoon/early evening and aiming to avoid too many people and have some quiet moments.

It’s great when a plan works out! Only a handful of vehicles were in the parking lot, the sun was high enough to provide warmth, and the worst of the wildfire smoke had dissipated.

The beach was quiet, and we found a convenient log close to the forest fringe to settle down and watch the water. Shimmer on the water, a haze in the distance, fresh air and no chill to the light breeze – it was pretty much a perfect evening, and felt like a mini-vacation.

Summer seems to have raced by, and the hints of fall being not too far ahead are growing. Dry yellow leaves along pathways and verges, ripe salal and blackberries, and the shock of seeing the sun set long before 9pm – yikes, we’d best make the most of the fast fading warm days…

That’s some good advice about making the most of the remaining summer days – looks sunny and warm here the next couple of days, so off I go! Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
South Beach is one of my favourite spots, good choice!

Totally agree! Relieved it was pretty quiet! Hope you’re keeping well up the road there… it must get quieter sometime soon?!

Yikes! A colleague was visiting the hospital last week, and she couldn’t believe how busy it was heading through. Ukee is badly overrun, but she thought it was more so up your way…
Stay safe and well, Wayne!

Yes,I heard from a friend that many of the staff at one restaurant are sick with the virus. The Ambulance seems busy as well and the Helicopter!
All of those tourists bring more than dollars.

A beautiful little vacation spot as summer speeds away. Reminds me that the blackberries should be ripe for picking here– if I can cross the creek, dramatically risen from the recent downpours. All the best!

I feel the urge to enjoy every bit of summer and hopefully an indian summer, that I can. This place is such a pretty spot that you share with us today. Thank you.

I hope summer is hanging on where you are, Jane! Less smoke, more sun and a pleasant autumn would be just fine…

It is amazing how quickly the transition to fall is upon us. I’m sure that I notice more as my figurative shadow gets longer, but it’s no less bittersweet (actually more so). Hope you are well, Adam and crew.

It feels like fall – certainly in the mornings – and I’m pretty happy to be looking forward to quieter days, visitor-wise, and hopeful the afternoons remain warm(ish) before the rains come…
We are bumbling along and doing ok, all things considered – thanks, Bob, and we hope all is well with you and yours.

The mini vacation looks wonderful (beautiful shot of some haze) and always enjoy hearing about hints of fall!! Keeping with the positive vibes we had wins and goals by favorites Jack Grealish and Dele Alli, very late off the bench sighting of Kane and absolutely love the new Tottenham jerseys and may have to order one with or without Kane!! I wasn’t sure if the Everton tie fell in the positive vibes category?!?! Enjoy the week and the summer days!

Thank you! A long and warmish fall would be fine by us…
Hmm, what to make of the Kane situation?! Transfer deadline day is fast approaching! Everton result was one I’d have taken at the start, but leading twice and not holding on? A little disappointing. Mind you, after the second half of last season, this one is going great!

Glad the smoke has let up in your area, Adam. So nice when autumn is in the air…it will be a long time before I can say that. Enjoyed your peaceful images. 🙂
