A bit earlier than we expected, and it didn’t stick around too long, but it was a welcome first sight of what we hope will be an enjoyable outdoorsy winter. (Ask us about that again in late March…)

Scout was absolutely thrilled to see the snow and couldn’t get out of the house fast enough. Fortunately, our door and front gate is each wide enough to accommodate one excited canine and one excited human at the same time. C’mon, Scout, it’s not a race…

The total amount didn’t top out much over a handful of centimetres, but it was enough to kick and slide around in, and it remained cold enough to still look pretty the following day, quite dazzling under bright blue skies.

Mrs. PC managed to calm Scout (and me) down, explaining that there’ll be plenty more snow the next few months and wondering if we might be a little less excitable, ‘cos it’s a long winter? I can’t speak for Scout being less excitable about snow, but I’ll try. Although, whisper it, it was Mrs. PC looking up local xc ski trails and searching out the snowshoes in the basement. Cool!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Oh so fun when you get your snow, pc. Loved the jubilation here of all three of you and fun quotes that brought a smile to my face. Terrific before-and-afters at the end. Have a fun time, pc.

Thanks, Jet! It didn’t stick around, and was fun while it lasted, but as I look out the window now, there’s a hint of more to come…
I hope your week is going well!

I love the enthusiasm for the snow, especially for the chance to explore new ski trails, and probably new waxes, to suit the climate.Nice photo, Mrs. PC! Wishing all of you joy in the new season!

Thanks, Jane! Yup, it’s not the easy powder we enjoyed out and about in AB… but we’ll try and adjust! I hope your week is going well!

Excellent autumn/winter images, PC. I often think the first real snow accumulation of the season is the sweetest one.

Agreed, Walt! It’s a heavier and wetter snow here than the (mostly) light powder we enjoyed out west, so we’ll see if we stay as enthusiastic as winter marches on!

Scout looks wonderful sprinkled in snowflakes and love the before/after snow shots of the trail!! Laughed at all the snow enthusiasm and tell Mrs. PC I loved her photo and to make sure she prints this blog so she can remind you how much you love snow in February. My niece just asked me today why I don’t seem excited about winter this year and I’m horrified that I said I might like August better since I’m not adjusting to the dark mornings and nights. Hopefully that insane thinking will disappear quickly. Thought Everton was going to get a win and after a disappointing loss earlier in the week, hat-trick hero Kane was back! Looking forward to reading about your snowshoe adventures!🙂

I will let her know! (She’s the one most excited about the February winter carnival – not kidding, she can’t wait!)
Look at Kane go – records will fall! Funny/terrible game between Spurs/Chelsea last night, really an odd one. Oh Everton… so close yet so far. Not getting any hopes up re. surviving relegation just yet…
I hope your week is going well (we just had another small sprinkling of snow – winter is almost here!)
