Why not both?! Still and sparkling!
A brief piece this week, celebrating recent bright and brilliant weather days – we got out there when we could. Most of the past ten days has seemed somewhat overly (but necessarily) medical, from getting COVID and flu shots (never doing both at the same time again, didn’t work too well for me) to meeting every eye doctor in town (or so it seemed), as we went from one escalating appointment to the next, each doctor wanting a second opinion to the previous second opinion.

Fortunately, once all the information had been gathered, the most senior opinion won the day (or week) and declared all was well, with no new news and to please come back in twelve months. Phew…

I hadn’t been experiencing any symptoms, but once one doctor took a look, they all wanted to peer in there, and really, can you blame them? If you’ve met me, and gazed into my beautiful grey-blue-green (that’s right, can’t even get agreement on this) eyes, you already understand the attraction. If you haven’t met me and you’ve yet to gaze into my eyes, well, join the line and you’ve so much to look forward to…
I think on that modest note it’s time to start wrapping this up. Most importantly, thank you doctors – always better to be safe than sorry…

We celebrated the eventual no news is good news with some still and some sparkling, and goodness, it was very well chilled. Minus 10 was the daytime high midweek – cool! To my lovely eyes and clear sighted thinking (huh?) these are the very best sort of winter days, with fresh snow, blue skies, and barely a hint of wind. It was wonderful to be outside this week, on the Plains of Abraham and in our local woods in near perfect conditions – some truly splendid sights for sore eyes!

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I’m glad your vision is stable. I too got both flu and covid, one in each arm both are tender to touch and covid armpit is sore. I recall that from first one way back. On my one and only trip to Quebec city it was so cold and windy I didn’t get to see the plain of Abraham but I’m determined to get back. Sparkling is my new favorite love it cheers and have a great weekend

Thanks, Kelly! One of the shots knocked me out somewhat – doesn’t normally – must be getting old…
Weekend was good, although the rain was an unwelcome surprise. Back to snow today, and hopefully we’re getting enough to get onto xc skis!
Hope your weekend went well, and you enjoy your week!

LOL thanks for making me laugh! I too, like you and many others, have been making the rounds with the doctor appointments, the shots (one in each arm) and the eye doctor. You have lots of snow, and it is very pretty. Just a sciff for us, and it is slippery, so got the cleats out. Can you believe it, the temp is going up to plus 5 degrees on Sunday.

Thanks, Jane! Warm here as well over the weekend – raining! That’s gone now and it’s snowing once again today.
Those shots, got to have them, but they didn’t agree with me this time…
It’s not all fun getting old, but I prefer it to the alternative!
Hope all is well and you have a great week!

Getting old isn’t for sissies (attributed to Bette Davis) and while I too don’t like it, also agree that it is better than the alternative

Good news! Insightful & clearly expressed, and tasty also (as in sparkly landscape with a glass of Stout). Have another great one!

So glad you were celebrating good news after the eye doctor scare!!🙂 The waiting and worrying is horrible and thankfully you were able to get appointments and the good news quickly. Love your walks and beautiful photos and can’t believe all your snow. We just set a record this weekend with 63 degrees and after watching an eagle on the lake it was difficult not to get the kayak out after I irritated him and he flew away. I envy that you’re almost ready for snowshoe season now that you’re feeling better after the shots. I actually had the chance to watch and enjoy the Everton match this morning. Hope your brother was a part of that crowd that looked like they were having a great time. Enjoy the week and send those snow gods my way!!☃️

Thank you! Much relieved and very appreciative of QC healthcare system – a bit overzealous, but better than the reverse, and it works!
That snow was rain (huh?!) on Sunday, not fun, but we have snow again today! Inching towards snowshoes and xc skis…
Everton?! I do not recognize this team, but I could get used to it. Good to see Spurs back to form, but what happened to Bayern?!
Enjoy your week ahead, and here’s hoping you get some snow!

When in doubt, go with a stout, as my grandfather said. Actually, he did not, but sound advice nevertheless.

Agreed, Bob! Sounds like the sort of thing a grandfather should say. Mine liked a pint of Courage Best!
