The on and then off winter continues, with recent days being bright, cold and sunny after a limited snowfall.

On falls, I had one myself recently, and I wish I could report it was dramatic, high tension, and high speed stuff. Sadly, it wasn’t. I was stood (almost) still on skis on a slight upslope, didn’t compensate enough and fell backward! Ouch! Was what I didn’t say. I won’t repeat that here…

One sprained wrist later, I’m easing off both skiing and typing, so a brief post this week, and possibly next week as well, until both the dented ego and the sore wrist are restored.

In the meantime, we’ll be enjoying the last remnants of winter this coming weekend with sedate and low risk walks in the woods. Looking ahead, I see another thaw in the forecast and very little snow. How and when will I get back on that horse— I mean skis?! No snow woe? Good thing I have a sunny disposition…

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Sorry to hear of your fall, that slope though small, appears to have a few shifts of angle in it which can be detrimental for “us older folk”. It is a reminder of why I may not get back to the sport after knee and hip surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery and think you will be back at it in time. Enjoy the walks with Mrs PC and Scout. Nice photo of the sun lighting up the crystals on the trunk!

Thanks, Jane! On the mend, nothing too damaged (just my pride!)
Warming up again here, might not get out on skis again this season…
Enjoy your week!

Ouch! Sorry, Adam. Hope your wrist is feeling better. Beautiful photos and looks like a fun cross-country ski spot!

Thanks, Jane! All good, just a tad embarrassing, falling on the slowest and flattest trail ever!

Ouch indeed, or the other less tame word that no doubt you used. Love your pics. I do hope your wrist is healing Adam. Take it easy and maybe favour the other one for your beer drinking! Cheers. ☺️

Thanks, Miriam! No real harm, just looked daft, falling in a flat spot.
I can confirm it hasn’t interrupted hoisting a pint or two!
Loving your Vietnam reports, hope the beach week is going well!

Haha, good to hear that Adam, and yes, beach life this week has been very restful.

I have to agree with fellow bloggers here that “us older folk” have to be careful and I certainly hope it wasn’t your drinking hand and “maybe favour the other one for your beer drinking!” Wonderful thing about this age is you won’t remember this happened next year and will be ready to be back on the skis. It’s strange looking at all your snow as we get ready for sixty degrees and thunderstorms this week. Hope your wrist heals quickly and maybe there’s another chance to ski again this year. Hopefully along with the wonderful walks it was a good football and movie weekend!!🙂

I fell over?! When? Yup, advancing years and a failing memory can work wonders…
Can still raise a pint, and needed to after Everton blew that lead!
We’ve got Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Holdovers, and Napoleon lined up for the next few movies. And with little to no snow – just rain! – in the forecast, we’ll have time for them all!
Hope your week is going well!

Sorry to hear about the wrist! But it sounds like you have a good plan for recovery. I like the “do what you can” mentality. Heal quickly!

Thanks, John! Mostly suffering from acute embarrassment – there was barely an incline to fall on…
Winter seems to be disappearing up here, so our thoughts are turning to spring camping!
