Slow down, summer, you move too fast – but it’s been mostly colourful and groovy, at least when it hasn’t been raining!
July has been a relatively wet one for Calgary, one of the five wettest since counting the previous four wettest or something. Definitely damp, I’ll say that.

We have enjoyed a couple of mighty thunderstorms in between the drier days, that’s for sure. Scout doesn’t much like the thunder, tough as she looks. On calmer days she’s been catching up on old p-mail haunts and meeting old friends.

I’ve been slowly (oh so slowly) tottering about our immediate neighbourhood, getting reacquainted with familiar streets and some new scenes. Life is good in Calgary, and often colourful, but I did not know about the beach!

Here’s some bubbly colour I’ll be enjoying this evening – a first new-to-me Calgary beer since returning home, the beer style a predictably unsurprising choice, and the can design recalling those lovely ski jackets from the late ‘80s. If summer is racing by, it can only mean winter is fast approaching! I don’t need a new ski jacket, but if I did, these colours would look great on me. And grate on everyone else nearby. Sold!

I’ll zoom off now, to get ready for a top down long weekend – we’ve never spent August in Calgary before, so we’re excited about what it might bring.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Good to see you’re enjoying your return to Calgary, pc, and Mrs. PC and Scout are too. Summer does seem to zip by but you sure have filled it with adventures. Sending a smile and best wishes for a super weekend ahead.

So how is Scout taking to the cat? Is this a new neighbour or a family member? Mrs PC, that is a fine photo of Scout on the stump. It is a long weekend, so I am sure there will be a festival of some sort to get involved with. Heritage Days? Music? Hot weather and a cold brew? Whatever you decide, enjoy.

We had a wild storm with some loud cracks of thunder and torrential downpour on the weekend that I am pleased with.I was talking with people in Jasper and it was pouring there-good! Better than fires.

I think if one explores slowly one will see details that others miss. I am looking forward to seeing those details through your eyes.

It’s not going to hurt to slow down for a while – the parks are looking good here after all the recent rain!

Wonderful post and photos this week, especially love all the yellow and the great shot of Scout! Detroit has an urban beach that is very popular and I do believe I had a ski jacket in that color. We had double our average rainfall last month and after a couple nice days the hot weather returns this week. Surprisingly other people are still complaining about our summer weather more than me and my countdown to football season has begun. Hope you enjoyed the weekend, beer and the Everton match today!🙂

I enjoyed the beer, the thundery weekend weather, and even enjoyed the very strange Everton goal for 2-2! Having seen these three pre-season games, all I can say is expectations for the coming season are low. Very, very low!

It all looks wonderful Adam and it sounds like you’re enjoying being reacquainted with your old neighbourhood. Poor Scout! Harry never much liked thunderstorms either.
Great pics and commentary. And by the way I agree, where HAS the year gone. I can’t believe we’re in August!! Slow down you move too fast … anyhoo, have a groovy and fun month ahead. 😁
