Thanksgiving is here this coming Monday, and, once again, amongst all the ever increasing madness in the wider world, we’re very aware we’ve so much to be thankful for.

As I’ve written before, thanksgiving weekend more or less marks the anniversary of when we moved to Canada, a move we’ve never once regretted (well, maybe some regret related to my first and probably last slice of pumpkin pie all those years ago, shudder… the horrors of pumpkin pie – apologies to outraged traditionalists – but no, no, never again, I can’t, I just can’t…)

Pumpkin pie aside, each passing year we love where we live more and more. So if you choose to celebrate the coming holiday, happy thanksgiving!

Ok, let’s keep it brief this week – there’s an apple pie that needs our attention! The next photograph was also taken last weekend and I think it signals the end of the brief Alberta mountain fall and our current camping season?! More to follow…

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving and love the photos of the snowy camper and foothills! You definitely have a beautiful country to enjoy. I’m not crazy about pumpkin pies, but I believe pumpkin spice lattes are addictive. Enjoy the fall/winter weather and the weekend!🎃

Thank you! The mountain country near here is so beautiful.
No pie, no way, but we did have a pumpkin spiced scone yesterday, and it was great, with no toddler tantrum or making faces from me – very grown up behaviour. Won’t risk a latte though…
I hope your weekend is going well! Got a few flakes of snow this morning – what a weird up and down fall!

It’s Thanksgiving Day, yet so many people are choosing between which necessity of life they can afford.
Meantime, the more that giant-grocer corporations make, all the more they irresistibly want to and likely will make next quarter. It’s never enough. No wonder food banks are strained. Unmet food needs are exacerbated by price inflation, while corporate profits and payouts to CEOs correspondingly inflate.
I would gladly give thanks — if everyone else on Earth had enough clean, safe drinking water, nutritional food and societal stability to maintain a normal, healthy life.

Happy Thanksgiving pc! I always think of you on that day, and your thankfulness. I didn’t realize it was your anniversary. That was a mighty big leap you and Mrs. PC took in moving to Canada and I am happy to hear you continue to enjoy it. LOL at the pumpkin pie rant. And now I’m laughing again. Cheers, my friend.

Thank you! I don’t know what it is about those pies… I really did try, out of patriotic duty, to like ‘em when we first arrived, but nope, they’re not for me! And yet I’ve no problem with a pumpkin spiced muffin… must just be an old contrarian! Cheers!
