It’s not always(!) sunny here, but when it isn’t, you can still find spots of colour and brightness, particularly when searching for spring near the harbour.

Scout and I remembered we hadn’t visited “the pink tree” yet this spring, often because we’d been distracted by the beach and/or a sunny deck on recent bright days.

We decided to put that right, hoping we hadn’t left it too late to see the tree in full glory…

There was no need to worry, and although the morning wasn’t bright, the display more than made up for it – what a sensory delight!

Let’s keep it short yet bright, like blossom on a spring day… or something… Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A pure delight, pc. Loved the opening of your post with the colors and wondering about the pink tree. I have favorite seasonal plants I visit too, it’s one of the many delights of living in the same place over the seasons. And then the photos of this magnificent tree, close-up and with the surroundings too, was a real blast of spring. I hope you and Mrs. PC have a happy weekend, my friend.

The weekend was a wall to wall sunny delight and we made the most of it, here on the coast and down island in Victoria. So much colour!
I hope your weekend went well and you have a great week ahead!

I make sure I stop and smell lilacs every spring, they are my pink tree. Spring colors are such a welcome event. Have an amazing weekend friend.

Yeah, the daffodils have to bow to such explosive pink blossoms as seen on that tree. My daffs here are doing likewise to the pink & white blossoms of the apple trees, the lilacs coming on strong. May just brings it on & on!

May is a great month, and has been very pleasant here after an uncertain start. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it out your way, Walt!

I love daffodils but you can’t add them to a lot of other flowers in water because they will kill the other flowers. The looks like a double-flowering plum blossom, my favourite. Ours are starting to come out now which is a wee bit earlier than normal, think it was the high temperatures and rain. lovely photos, I also like the spring greens. Nothing like it!

Thanks, Jane! It’s turned hot here, quite unusual but we’re enjoying it while it lasts… Hope it’s not too hot in Edmonton – spring rains very much needed to prevent a bad wildfire season?

Too late for prevention. We have fires in all directions, even small ones in the city. The number of evacuees in Alberta grew to more than 19,300 on Sunday due to wild fires. Trudeau has sent in the troops to help after the Premier declared an emergency. Temps here are in the 30’s with winds and dry as a bone. Oddly, little to no smoke in the city but maybe I am getting used to it.

Love the walk around the harbor and the pops of orange and spring flowers!! The boats are arriving on our lakes, but so far not many have left their docks and it’s peaceful kayaking. Luckily the great weather continues and we’ll be talking about the weather instead of soccer and hockey. Enjoy the week!😎

Thank you! Agreed, let’s leave off hockey and football until next season… (I never expected anything from the City game, and with two to go before the end, I’m anxious!)
At least the weather has warmed up – unseasonably hot here, and we’re not complaining.
Enjoy your week, and I hope it’s easy kayaking for you!
