What a noisy week it has been. Well, I suppose it’s been noisy for a touch longer than that. Still, Super Tuesday (or was it Thursday? Oops!) and all the primary excitement. Joementum! Feeling the Bern! Racist slurs and insults on Twitter! Don’t forget the virus! We’re all going to die. True, but not right now, and not all at once. Is there a cure for this March madness? Health warning: this post contains many questions, and few answers!

Not sure it’s a cure, but the Pacific provided some respite for us recently, on our own little Super Tuesday. We decided to take coffee and a second breakfast to Florencia Bay. Sunshine and an empty parking lot greeted us, as well as a falling tide. Barely a breath of wind, and the noise came from washing waves, the cries of gulls, and a pair of singing bald eagles. Ah, blessed harmony…

Florencia is Mrs PC’s favourite beach, and on a bright late winter day, it’s easy to see why. Coffee in a quiet place, sitting on a log overlooking the ocean? Could this be the cure? Dark roast and a berry muffin – a medical miracle. Perhaps not, but in the moment it certainly felt like a soothing specific Pacific balm for the epic epidemic of modern madness. I enjoyed writing that last sentence, but I wouldn’t want to repeat it three times. Or sing Happy Birthday twice (oh if only the cure for what ails us was so simple!)
Hush now, politicians, step aside, put your money where your mouths are, and listen to and support the proper experts – nurses, doctors, healthcare workers, underfunded and overworked yet doing their level best to keep all of us ticking along.

Keeping it brief this week. Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Crazy world lately, am I right? Regardless we are going to the movies tomorrow, eat popcorn and simply risk our lives for a little fun in the big city. Haha! I like to live on the dangerous side. As for the political climate, oh my let’s leave that alone. Stay sane this weekend!

Yes, there isn’t much point in being alive if you can’t do the things you enjoy due to fear and panic. Common sense if fine, but that’s in short political supply…
Keep living dangerously!

Your solitude and piece of heaven were the perfect antidote, pc, for a calm and sweet day in the midst of global chaos. I really loved your word choices here today: endemic, epic epidemic, modern madness. You did a good job of looking at this crazy week, and keeping it light. I hope your weekend ahead holds more moments of dark roast and berry muffins, my friend. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face today.

Thanks, Jet! Dark roast and berry muffins will suffice in the face of modern madness. We’re not stockpiling them though. Goodness, let’s all take a moment…
I hope your week is going well!

you could of also said “all of this is making me anemic” or at least aging me prematurely!
I recognized that beach right away. The north end of Florencia has many boulders laying about.
There use to be a sandstone concretion at the top but somebody rolled it away.

Yes, I thought you’d recognize Florencia – love it there on a quiet day!

I’ve always wanted to go out to the island. I think this summer on a real calm day I’m going down there and explore!
Suppose to be haunted by the poor souls who perished there.

Politicians are indeed meddling with the medical system. Yes, it looks peaceful, and glad you found such a pleasant respite.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful Pacific and harmony! I hope coffee and pastries is a medical cure since I’ve already added extra coffee and Pop-Tarts to my emergency supplies! Since we have to sing Happy Birthday twice, shop for supplies (for some reason I now have a half a gallon of oat milk in the refrigerator) and watch more movies, Jumanji: The Next Level and Netflix’s Spencer Confidential, thankfully I no longer have any extra time to watch the politicians, which is good since raising your blood pressure isn’t healthy during these times. Hope you’re enjoying the weekend and more blue skies!

Coffee and pop tarts will see you through! Never mind the global virus, what about Spurs and Everton?! They could use a shutdown…
I enjoyed the first Jumanji movie, the body swap comedy was very funny, so hopefully the next will be good fun. Not hearing good things about Spenser Confidential, which is a shame, because the books I’ve read were pretty good.
I think Spurs are playing later today in the Champions League – I might watch just to see Mourinho’s face.

What a crazy world it is at the moment PC, appreciate your light mood and peaceful pics as always. I’ve just returned from a gruelling visit to the dentist, more to come next week. Groan. Hope your week ahead is a good one. 😊

Thanks, Miriam! Groan indeed – hope you’ve got something medicinal to take the edge off. As approved by your dentist, of course!

Thanks, Kelly! We were planning to make an epic road trip from west to east coast this coming summer, reaching NB and PEI. It’s all on hold until we see which way the medical and social winds are blowing. More likely to be the summer after. I’d read quite a few of your pieces on Saint John, Fredericton and all, and was getting quite excited. It’ll all still be there when the time is right…
Thanks for the good wishes, and look after yourself.
